Normally updating the SlingStudio firmware (the internal firmware that makes the SlingStudio work) should be an easy, very hands-off process. When you are notified via the Console app that an update is required, you can let the app take care of it automatically.
However, if:
- The firmware update doesn’t download;
- The firmware update doesn’t install;
- The firmware download (or update) displays an error message …
… then there could be a problem that needs to be resolved.
Here are some things to try:
- Make sure that your SlingStudio is properly powered up with its LED band glowing steadily blue.
- Check that the iPad is connected to the SlingStudio Wi-Fi hotspot during the firmware update process.
- Make sure that the SlingStudio is nearby the Console app on the iPad while the firmware update is taking place.
- Delete the Console app from the iPad, then re-download the Console app from Apple App Store. Try the update process again.
- Finally, try closing all of the other apps on the iPad except for Console app.
If none of those things help, please contact SlingStudio customer support for assistance.
