You can use the SlingStudio Console app to monitor, record, and switch up to four video sources simultaneously in 1080p30, 720p60, or 720p30 modes. (In 1080p60 mode, the limit is two video sources.)
And you can have even more potential video sources connected to the SlingStudio unit on "standby" and ready for you to switch to them: A total of 10 video sources can be connected to the SlingStudio unit, including the immediately-available video sources mentioned above.
How does that work?
Up to four available video sources (up to two in 1080p60 mode) appear in the Console app under the VIDEO SOURCES section. These video sources are the ones that are immediately available to go live in your production. You can monitor and/or record them simultaneously.
Along with those, you can also have more video sources (up to a total of 10) that can be connected to your SlingStudio unit but are in the background, ready to "swap out" with the video sources that are displayed in the Console app. When you swap out one of the visible video sources, the background source becomes one of the available video sources, while the source that you swapped gets put into the background for possible re-use later.
To swap out an available video source for one that is not displayed in the Console app (iPad):
To swap out an available video source for one that is not displayed in the Console app (Mac):
Note: Don't swap out a "new" video source into the position of a source that's currently in use in Preview or Program.
