If you need to stream your project to two streaming sites simultaneously—for example, to both YouTube and Facebook—it can be done! In fact, there are two ways to do it:
- Option 1: Use the Custom RTMP feature that the SlingStudio Console app offers.
- With this feature, you can stream to services such as restream.io that let you stream to more than one Content Delivery Network (CDN) … such as YouTube and Facebook.
- For more information, see the articles that are cross-referenced below.
- Option 2: Use the live switched Program output via the SlingStudio unit's HDMI Output port.
Interested in Option 2? Here are step-by-step instructions for it:
How do I get a second program stream using the SlingStudio HDMI Output port's live switched Program output?
- First, configure the live broadcast stream to go to one of your destinations, such as Facebook.
For more information on doing that, see the articles linked below. - Second, use the SlingStudio unit's HDMI Out port to provide a feed that you can use with a PC or Mac computer running a free open source software product such as the Open Broadcaster product.
- In the SlingStudio Console app, tap the HDMI OUT control (in the lower-left corner) and set it to PROGRAM VIDEO.
- To connect the HDMI Out feed to a PC or Mac computer, use a device such as a Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Recorder or a Magewell HDMI capture device to feed the SlingStudio program into Open Broadcaster.
- To configure an OBS stream for YouTube, please refer to this video:
